Meet Yasemin
Yasemin is a staff writer at Quanta Magazine writing about the fascinating world of biology that surrounds us and is us. She especially likes writing about the brain and how it paints our experience of the world.
She graduated from The University of Connecticut with a degree in biomedical engineering in 2016 and from The University of California, Santa Cruz in 2017 with a graduate degree in science communication. She interned at Stanford University’s School of Medicine, The Monterey Herald and The San Jose Mercury News. After graduating in 2017, she returned to the East Coast, and interned at Princeton University and then at Scientific American. In the spring of 2018, she started as a staff writer at Live Science, focusing on neuroscience and medicine. In January of 2022, she started as Quanta Magazine’s biology writer.
